The Team

Meet the big dreamers! Our team is made up of the parents, teachers, businessmen and women, volunteer base, and so many more who choose to invest in the leaders of the next generation. Here are the core staff members involved in connecting it all to make it happen.

Carolyn Spitler
Executive Director

Carolyn is the resident botanist at Loveworks! She first got involved with Loveworks as a college volunteer, expecting to just to tutor students. Her passion to see young teens discover their potential and live into their dreams was soon ignited, and she found herself more at Loveworks than in the pharmaceutical lab that she researched in. She traded in her lab coat for the many hats she now wears at Loveworks. Her goal for students is for them to uncover their potential and apply their passion to a meaningful purpose, becoming compassionate leaders in their community.

In her free time, she’s a big foodie and loves the arts, so you’ll typically see her brunching on the weekends, working on another craft project, or enjoying a concert with her husband Tyler.

Pennie Sandt
Operations Manager

You may know her from the Loveworks kitchen, but did you know Pennie is a proud military veteran? During her service in the military, Pennie honed her skills in leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving. After transitioning from the armed forces to the civilian world, She developed a passion for the culinary arts and came to Loveworks first as a volunteer chef in the kitchen. She loves to see our kids try new foods and strives to expand their palates!

In her new role, she is dedicated to advancing the organization’s mission of empowering middle school students. Pennie brings a unique blend of discipline, creativity, and community focus to their role as Operations Manager at Loveworks. In her free time, Pennie loves to spend time with her family riding Seadoos and playing in the lakes of Oklahoma.

Braden Breinholt
Program Specialist

Braden is a proud Normanite, Sooner born and Sooner bred. His journey with Loveworks began in 7th grade as a student, and he stayed involved after experiencing the profound impact Loveworks had on his life and realizing the difference he could make in others’ lives. Currently pursuing a degree in Entrepreneurship at the University of Oklahoma and a member of the 63rd Presidents Leadership Class, Braden is eager to channel his experiences into empowering students, just as he was once empowered. He is looking forward to all the fun, laughter, and growth that come with leadership programming and seeing students develop into the best version of themselves. A lover of nature, Braden enjoys hiking, camping, and anything that gets him outside. When he’s not at Loveworks, you can usually find him exploring the trails or unwinding in a hammock.
