I began my Real Estate career in June 1990 soon after we purchased our first home.  The next 13 years I worked passionately on building my business and reputation to a height that would allow me to become a broker of my own entity. The more my business grew the more I realized I needed to bring in some experienced reinforcements, so in January of 2002 I launched Vawter Real Estate.  I currently have 8 additional licensed agents.  I am beginning my 32nd year of real estate.  I pride myself on making sure that I put my best foot forward and always give 110% when representing my clients. I believe in practicing good morals and having a strong work ethic. I will always advocate for my clients with honesty and integrity and work hard to do what is best for my clients and educate them as we go through the process of buying or selling.  I believe my accounting background has been instrumental in helping clients understand the financial aspect and benefit of owning their own home.  I also worked for several years at Don Cies during which time I purchased a residential lot in Brookhaven and sub contracted my own home.  The knowledge I gained during that process will be with me for the rest of my life.  I built great relationships with the contractors, and I continue to help clients with remodel and construction projects to this day.  I love helping people accomplish one of the biggest decisions of their life when they buy or sell a home.  I really enjoy the relationships and friendships that I have built through the years and the satisfaction of knowing someone trusts you.  It is one of my favorite compliments that I receive when my clients appreciate and value the knowledge and experience, I can give to them.  I can not imagine myself doing anything different and look forward to continuing for many years to come.

I grew up in Moore and graduated from Purcell High School, after graduating high school I went to OSU Institute of Technology and completed an associates degree in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.  My first job out of college re located me to Tyler Texas where I met my wife, Sallie.  We have an 18-year-old daughter (Abbi) that will graduate from Norman High in 2022. I currently work at Johnson Controls where I am the IT Manager, responsible for Engineering Sales tools.  I have spent all my career in different engineering and technical related fields.  Growing up, my dad owned a gas station and mechanic shop.  I always enjoyed hanging out at his work and helping either pumping gas, working on cars or fixing flat tires it was always fun.  I feel this enhanced my technical side and helped me decide to work in the engineering and technical field.   I have held positions as an engineer at Johnson Controls, networking engineer for the postal training center, Electrical Engineer for oil field company and my current position as IT Manager. I would love to see more young adults pursue careers as tradesmen or engineers.  There is a huge shortage of skilled workers, and it is getting harder each year to fill positions in these areas. It might not be as cool as coding but many of these jobs pay very well.  Loveworks is a great organization to help young kids try to find their passion and possible future career paths even before they go to high school.  Outside of work I enjoy most sports and going to concerts.  I have been an OU football season ticket holder for many years and enjoy following the Sooners and of course the Dallas Cowboys.  The Vawter family actively volunteers with the mobile food pantry at McFarlin United Methodist where we are also members.

Brian Werkman was raised in Pryor, OK and has lived in the OKC area since 2003, attending and graduating from the University of Oklahoma. After his time in hospitality, Brian moved into the payments and fintech industry with Heartland, and then started working at Clearent in late 2019. He has served over 100 local and regional companies as a Clearent account executive, and also spent 18 months helping lead the Oklahoma market growth for his company eventually serving a team of 8 reps. Brian is married to his wonderful and talented wife Carrie, and has two children – Beckett, 4 and Malakai, 6. One of the unique parts of the Werkman story is that they have grown their family through foster and adoption care and are very passionate about that cause. As an avid Shark Tank fan, and a huge advocate of the Loveworks programs, Brian is excited to serve and impact the organization in whatever ways possible.
