People ask us often ask us how we do it…the answer is simple: it’s because of people like you! If you believe that influencing the next generation of leaders is possible in the here and now, then you’re in the right place.
Volunteer leaders, such as yourself, are truly the life-blood of our organization and are the ones who make the incredible life change we see on a daily basis happen.
Volunteer opportunities are available to match up with the strengths and interests of a wide range of people in both our Afterschool Leadership programs and Leadership Classes. We encourage you to apply today to volunteer with Loveworks Leadership, check out the different options below!
Weekly: Monday – Thursday
Time: 3:45PM- 6:15PM
Recommended volunteer commitment: 2x per week
Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday / Thursday afternoons
Mentor middle school students, help facilitate leadership lessons and lead group activities. You might be surprised of the impact you will make in their lives as well as on yourself!
Bus Ninjas: 3:00PM - 6:15PM
Ride the bus to the Loveworks Center and help kick off the Loveworks experience for our students the moment they get out of school.
WESTERN HEIGHTS (OKLAHOMA CITY)
Weekly: Recommended volunteer commitment: 2x per week
Monday/Tuesday @ Western Heights Middle School 2:40 PM to 4:15 PM with 7th and 8th grade students
Wednesday/Thursday @ Bridgestone Intermediate School from 2:40 PM to 5:00 PM with 5th and 6th grade students

MORNING LEADERSHIP CLASSES
Weekly: Once a week for a 5 week session
Time: 7:00AM - 8:10AM
The early bird gets the worm! You will experience what it’s like to teach the most fun 45-minute leadership lessons to 5th grade students before the sun rises.
Want to dive in a little deeper? Interested in learning how non-profits function? An internship is a great partnership to expand the capacity of your skills! Each fall Loveworks challenges students to become overnight advocates in action through Box City. Students sleep in a cardboard box overnight and passionately raise awareness for homelessness. You can be an advocate too! Volunteer opportunities include: event planning team, set-up/tear-down crew, and zombie crew (overnight!). More details coming soon!
There’s a lot to do behind the scenes to prepare the incredible lessons and experiences at Loveworks. Maybe you’ve got an eye for design and want to decorate our ever-changing environments? Or you might have a passion for organization and planning or data entry and administrative – there are endless ways you can be a part of Loveworks. Starbucks Partners will take off their aprons off in April as they put on an annual community event with Loveworks and other events throughout the year. We love our baristas!
McKinney has brought fun and professional together as they’ve offered creative and practical opportunities to our students about design, architecture, and business planning.
Volunteers come from many and diverse areas of OU, from business to sports to music! This university lives on as it inspires the next generation of leaders.
