Meet the big dreamers! Our team is made up of the parents, teachers, businessmen and women, volunteer base, and so many more who choose to invest in the leaders of the next generation. Here are the core staff members involved in connecting it all to make it happen.
Michael Hirsch Executive Director
Michael first got involved with Loveworks Leadership before the name or logo even existed when he accepted an offer from our founder, Clark Mitchell, to start an afterschool program for middle school students. Michael has been working with youth for 15 years, and his dedication to inspiring young leaders burns even brighter than when he first discovered his passion. Michael is a father of two girls and one boy, loving husband to Selah, and a four-time Iron Man.
Better known as “D”, our faithful Afterschool Director first got involved when he was in grad school for Mechanical Engineering and began tutoring when the Loveworks program started with only 27 students. Soon after getting his Masters, he decided to leave the world of machines and began full-time volunteering at Loveworks Leadership. He now is a professional motivator as he works with 175+ students a part of the afterschool program and coordinates the 350+ volunteers that come through our doors in a year. In his free time, you can find him at the gym or working on his motorcycle.
Carolyn is the resident botanist at Loveworks! She first got involved with Loveworks as a college volunteer, expecting just to tutor students. Her passion to see young teens discover their potential and live into their dreams was soon reignited, and she found herself more at Loveworks than in the pharmaceutical lab that she researched in. She traded in her lab coat and hasn’t looked back since! She’s a big foodie and loves music, so you’ll typically see her brunching on the weekends or at concerts big and small.
Hayley is an OU graduate from Frisco, TX. She graduated with a degree in elementary education and specialized in middle school math. Hayley first got started with Loveworks in 2014 by fulfilling her volunteer requirement for one of her classes, but quickly exceeded her 15 hour requirement when she became invested in the lives of our students. She’s skillful and intentional when it comes to creating amazing experiences and coordinating events like Box City and Winter Wonderland, but she also enjoys hot yoga and is an avid traveler!
